The Language of Crisis: A Multimodal Discourse Analysis of COVID-19 Reporting in Pakistani and American Newspapers

The year 2020 has been an unusual due to the pandemic and related issues, during which newspapers have most impactful medium for communication. purpose of this research is investigate how covid-19 visually represented verbally communicated readers in Pakistan America through newspapers. objectives study are social identities given participants pictures secondly, experienced verbal news reports create a reality. Linguistic data analyzed by using Transitivity kit, developed Halliday Systemic Functional Linguistics (2014), while visuals Visual Grammar Theory, presented Kress Leeuwen (2006).
